WEEK 15

THIS IS SCARY by D.X.Pert

The Bambino, the Billy goat, Sports Illustrated, Madden... Add Baseball Weekly to that list.  Since week 5, teams have a 1-9 record the week after being featured on the cover of this magazine. Well, at least nobody can blame us next week.

We can call week 15 Upset Week. Probably it was our fault for featuring them on last week's cover, but the fact is that the Terriers and the Fury lost after a long time. Playoffs don't seem to be such a sure thing for these franchises after all.
The Tree Frogs are having a nightmare season but they must be really happy after getting some revenge in beating the Howlers in a World Series rematch. By the way, that was Howlers' fourth straight loss (all after the cover). Poor champs, so many points scored week after week and yet so few wins to show for it.

And we can't talk about losing streaks without mentioning the Belfast Cubs, who lost their 11 straight game tying the all time record set by themselves last year.
The Delivery Boys try to use 2-start pitchers every week. Does it work? Not much. Teams that get 8 or more starts from their pitchers in a week have a 20-10 record (when taking away the matchups when such teams face each other). When teams get 9 starts or more, the record is 7-5. And when they get 10 starts from their guys, the record is 3-1. I guess quality beats quantity.
