WEEK 14

PLAYOFF BOUND by D.X.Pert

These two teams, the Terriers and the Fury, are models of consistency. They just keep winning and winning and winning. How do they do it?

The key for the Terriers is their terrific General Manager, Bob Vargo. Through good drafting and clever deals he assembled an amazing team with star power. If Beltran and Helton get hot, watch out!

The reasons for the Fury's success aren't so obvious. After losing Halladay to injury, their only real star is Alex Rodriguez. However, Smoltz and Carpenter lead the best pitching staff in the league with the most innings pitched and the lowest ERA and WHIP. This is somewhat surprising for a team without a true ace, like Clemens, Pedro or Santana.

It isn't really news, but the Cubs lost for the tenth week in a row and they seem to be shooting for the record of 11 straight losses that is owned by... the Cubs.
