WEEK 3

MONKEYS KEEP WINNING by D.X.Pert

The Monkeys are WHITE HOT! With great weeks from Lee, Vlad, Clemens and Hudson, they won for the eighth time in their last nine games and beat the Black Sox for the fourth straight time. Plus, they are the top team in scoring and the only undefeated after three weeks.
The International division belongs to the Mad Turtles. Their pitchers keep fanning everybody and Torii Hunter is stealing bags like crazy. They look much better than last season and might be the team to beat in that division.
Game of the week? No doubt, Fury-Terriers. The Fury won by only five points thanks to Danny Graves' three saves. I'm sure Vargo is blaming Blalock (3-27) for this loss.
The champions are back! Terrific performance to regain some confidence. It's still early, but that Francis doesn't look so bad now. The thin air hasn't affected him... yet. Remember that season when Hampton started something like 10-0 in Colorado only to finish with an ERA over 5?
The 0-3 Maniacs need a win quickly. You don't want to start like the Cubs last year. Spalding is holding out hope; he attributes the bad start to "a lack of two-start pitching opportunities, a lukewarm beginning for Edmonds and Pujols, stiff competition and the Bonds factor". He added that despite the dismal beginning, they have "outscored six teams and with a little tinkering can climb back into the race and get a boost when Bonds returns".
