WEEK 2

OUT OF NOWHERE by D.X.Pert

In Round 5 of the 2005 draft, David Pursley thought "I'll take Brian Roberts, he's an ok second baseman". Well, at least so far, he's much more than that. He's the MVP. After two weeks, he has 102 total points and, sit down please, that's 25 points more than the second best hitter! He lead the Monkeys towards their second victory and their seventh win in the last eight games.
Roberts is the story this week, but the best team so far is the Beachwood Terriers. And that's without Mark Prior! Larry Walker went 1 for 14, David Wright went 2 for 17 and, despite that, the game wasn't even close.
The game that was really close was the one between the Delivery Boys and the Howlers. The difference was Toronto's pitching. The champs have scored lots of points but have nothing to show for it.
And now it's back to reality for the Belfast Cubs. Get used to this, Irish fans; it will be another long season for all of you. The Stranglers took advantage of the Cubs this week but they have a solid team and sit on top of the division with a 2-0 record.
The Black Sox got their first win in the last four games but JJ is worried because Oliver Perez isn't performing. Maybe 2004 was a fluke...
The Walkers are excited because they beat the Mad Turtles for the first time ever. Sure, they took advantage of Scott Podsednik's injury, but a win is a win.
I'm already looking forward to week 3. Do you think Roberts can keep this up?
