After Thugs' loss against the Howlers, Jake Peavy said to the media: "I had a great week, I pitched really great but I'm here talking about our idiot manager who got liquored up and ran his mouth off. Give me a break!" Tough words after a tough loss. Thugs' manager, Patrick Martin, should have known better. Ball players don't appreciate it when their skipper fires up their opponent, and even less when we are talking about an undefeated opponent like the Kitchener Howlers. The Howlers are a decent team that gets the job done despite lacking a true star. Who's their best player? Rolen? Halladay? Boone? No problem, the number that matters in the end isn't the number of starts but the number of wins, and they are the team with the most win right now.
Let's talk a bit about the Eastern America Division. The Mishawaka Maniacs are definitely on a roll. Three wins in a row and lots of intentional walks issued to Barry Bonds have put them on top of the division.
And a  final paragraph on the 0-4 Belfast Cubs. It's tough to win when you have the worst pitching and the worst offense. Looks like it's time the manager pulled off some trades.
