WEEK 3

TOUGH LUCK by D.X.Pert

 

Already three weeks into the season, we have two winless teams. The Cubs and the Drunken Monkeys. The similiraties between these two teams begin and end in their records. The Cubs are built around Yankee stars, and we all know how bad things are going in the Bronx. They are the team with the fewest home runs and pitcher wins, the most pitcher losses and the second highest ERA. The Drunken Monkeys, on the other hand, are a good balanced team that has scored over 1000 points but happened to be really unlucky scheduling wise. Things HAVE to get better for the Monkeys, right?
We also have two undefeated teams: Terriers and Howlers. The Terriers are doing it with their pichers, who have a 2.53 ERA (and they are still waiting for Prior to come back... scary!), whereas the Howlers are taking advantage of their sluggers, lead by Scott Rolen.
And what about the rest? Maniacs' megastar, Barry Bonds, seems to be homering and walking his way towards an MVP season. Mad Turtles' kannon arms are striking out everybody, but yet that 4.05 ERA is kind of disappointing. Black Sox' pitching is abysmal. Tree Frogs are the top scoring team and must feel relieved now that A-Rod has started hitting again. Easy win for the Springers thanks to Pedro's and Clement's dominant outings.
