WEEK 24
|
THE BEST by D.X.Pert
Kudos to Robert Matthies and his players because they had an absolutely awesome season. This team never had that superstar in his prime that can carry a team all by himself. There's no Alex Rodriguez here, no Barry Bonds, no Pedro Martinez, no Manny Ramirez. But this doesn't mean this franchise doesn't have great players. It does. Only that they weren't sexy picks in the preseason. Roger Clemens? His was retired for God's sake! Scott Rolen? In the shadow of Albert Pujols. And nobody expected this kind of production from Sean Casey, Hideki Matsui, Melvin Mora or Johnny Damon. Week in and week out, I looked at this lineup and thought "there's no way they keep winning", and yet they did. Oktoberfest will be much much better this year in Kitchener. For the next months, people will only talk about the Howlers throughout the city, in Victoria Park, in Courtland Avenue, in the New Kitchener Market, in the Grand River... everywhere.
See you next season! |
Congrats, Robert!
