WEEK 22

TURTLES AND FROGS MOVE ON  by D.X.Pert

MAD TURTLES 389 (R.Hernandez 24, Bagwell 33, Bellhorn 27, Polanco 24, Crosby 19, Jenkins 24, Burnitz 20, Sosa 4, Klesko 29, Santana 32, R.Johnson 29, O.Hernandez 49, Schilling 24, Burnett 51)

THUGS 315 (Varitek 20, D.Lee 32, Kent 28, Hillenbrand 9, Garciaparra 13, S.Green 28, Beltran 35, Dunn 29, Bradley 15, Hampton 16, D.Bush 24, Robertson 16, Russ Ortiz 0, Peavy 50)

Clear win for the Turtles thanks to their spectacular pitching: 7 starts, 7 wins, 1.82 ERA, 0.811 WHIP. And their hitting wasn't bad at all. Thugs had a nice team but it wasn't championship material.

TREE FROGS 359 (Posada 22, Thome 28, Roberts 17, Huff 27, A.Rodriguez 32, Drew 35, S.Stewart 17, Patterson 42, D.Ortiz 25, Sabathia 54, Odalis Perez 12, Westbrook 28, Hoffman 14, Leiter 6)

DRUNKEN MONKEYS 339 (V.Martinez 15, Delgado 32, Loretta 19, C.Guillen 26, Furcal 34, Berkman 31, C.Lee 26, Guerrero 21, J.Wilson 23, B.Anderson 15, C.Zambrano 52, Glavine 22, Eaton 25, Hudson -2)

Good close game. Sabathia delivered, Hudson didn't. That was the main difference. In the playoffs you can't afford such a terrible performance by your ace.

Howlers 3-0

"Sometimes a bye is not the best thing. Last week, the Howlers generated 424 points. I am not sure things will go that well this week....
Bad luck (except injuries) to my opponent. Good luck to everyone else"

GAMMONS SAYS:

The Howlers have had an awesome season that might never be repeated. However, they are in trouble, because Mad Turtles' pitching is amazing and looks almost unbeatable. TURTLES WIN

"Clemens, I hate you. You're a punk, a jerk and Piazza is gonna beat you this week and you'll be watching the world series on TV"

HEAD TO HEAD

Maniacs 2-1

"Pitching is my weak point right now, so I've tried to mix it up, but the Tree Frogs looks pretty strong. The only thing I have in my favor (and it's a stretch) is that his two hottest pitchers, will only get one start this week. My crystal ball says the Frogs and Turtles will battle for the championship, but the Maniacs aren't dead yet"

GAMMONS SAYS:

The Gia... sorry, the Maniacs have the league MVP and that's a big plus, but what's the deal with that pitching? Terrible! Bonds will hit 700th but Frogs will win this series.
